Ambassadors - Our Chamber Ambassadors are crucial in recruiting new members and making sure the existing members are making the most of their chamber membership. They function as the hospitality arm of the chamber, helping members feel welcomed, connected, and informed. The ambassadors meet on the third Thursday of each month, at 11am. They do business visits for one hour, and conduct a business meeting and lunch for one hour and conclude at 1pm. They play a large role in planning the Annual Golf Outing, 4th of July Parade, Lighted Holiday Festival, and year-end Christmas Social. Ambassadors attend ribbon cuttings, business after hours, ground breakings, open houses, and other community events.

Networking Breakfasts and Lunches - These networking events are held on the second Thursday of each month. The program features business relevant topics, chamber updates, and a chance to network with fellow chamber members. Members have the opportunity to sponsor and host these events. The sponsorship opportunities offer a great way to showcase your business.

Open House, Ribbon Cuttings, and Business After Hours - These events allow members to showcase their business or organization and provide an opportunity for chamber members to network as well as celebrate special occasions such as; anniversaries, new business openings, and business expansions.

Fourth of July Parade and Celebration - This event is one of Newton’s largest community celebrations and the Chamber’s largest volunteer opportunity. Committee members are needed to plan and stage the parade and entries, as well as assist with the downtown vendors, publicity, and clean up. This is a great opportunity to gain experience with event planning and teamwork! Businesses also have sponsorship opportunities.

New Teacher’s Luncheon - This committee will plan the event which is held annually to celebrate the new educators and the school administration in the Newton Community School District, as well as in the Newton Christian School. Businesses also have the opportunity to show their support for the local schools by sponsoring the event.

Lighted Holiday Parade and Courthouse Lighting - This event is held annually on the Friday after Thanksgiving. The event follows the Annual Jasper County Courthouse Lighting and is a community favorite. The committee is responsible for recruiting parade entries, finding sponsors, and helping to stage the event.
