Holiday Festivities

This event, which features a lighted parade, is held annually on the Friday after Thanksgiving.  The event follows the Annual Jasper County Courthouse lighting and is a community favorite. We are holding a "Reverse Lighted Parade" for 2020. It will take place on November 27th from 6-8pm. Spectators will be able to drive through the lighted displays and floats from the warmth and comfort of their vehicles. This year's Theme is "It's a Wonderful Newton - Past, Present, and Future", based on the classic film. The Chamber is hopeful that this year's format will inspire creativity in displays that typically would not function in motion. We encourage all spectators to remain inside your vehicle to avoid drawing large, standing crowds. Santa will also be present and will have a drop-box for kiddos to leave their letters to Santa! The kids will be able to wave at Santa, as we are offering a no-contact experience. Please make sure the letters are in an envelope addressed to: Santa Clause, North Pole and have your return address included on the envelope!
