If you are a Greater Newton Area business and are now open and following the CDC and state guidelines for safe re-opening then we want you to sign the pledge! Our pledge provides a unique opportunity to get the message out to your community, your customers, and your employees that you are "Safe and Open"! The Chamber has put together a "Toolkit for Re-Opening" that is free to download and follow for your business or organization. We understand that COVID-19 has taken its' toll on many businesses and non-profits and we want to help! In our toolkit you will find many guidelines that will help keep your employees safe as well as your customers. The next step then is to sign our pledge! Once the pledge is signed you will be added to a database of businesse who are considered "Safe and Open"! We will also provide you with a FREE poster to put up in your storefronts so that all customers and the community know that you safe. We are also offering packages that include not only the FREE poster, but yard signs, decals, and much more!

Whether you’re raising a family, starting a business or building a home — you’ll want to get to know Newton. The community has many great amenities — excellent schools, unique entertainment, beautiful art displays and parks. Established in 1846 and incorporated as a city in 1857, Newton is the county seat of Jasper County and the largest city in the county. Newton focuses on providing a safe community with a high quality of life, engaged residents, and a strong business community. The city’s vision statement is “Newton Shines Bright: Newton is a progressive, family friendly community, a shining star of Central Iowa, and a place to call home."

City of Newton

Our schools provide great educational opportunities for our students ranging from high rigor academic courses to outstanding extracurricular activities. The Newton Schools boast a great mix of opportunities from fine arts to athletics. We encourage and support students who participate in multiple activities.  To quote the high school principal, "There's just no better place to raise your kid than Newton, Iowa." Come check us out. You will be glad you did.
