Community Events

The Chamber plans many free community events including our Annual Courthouse Lighting and Lighted Parade.


Our Ambassador program is a great way to become involved in the Chamber. From monthly  group business visits to planning the yearly Golf Outing, you will really get to know your business community.

Succession Planning Series

April 23rd & May 7th, 2019 - 11am - 1pm

This two-part series will take place at EJH Administration Center in Newton, IA, from 11am - 1pm. This event is open to all businesses and organizations both members and non-members. Session one will cover; "What Is a Succession Plan and Why Do I Need One?" and "Who Do I Need On My Professional Team To Form and Execute the Plan?" Session two will cover the topics of: "Estate Planning/Transition Plans, Purchase Agreements/Buy-out Agreements, and Reducing Taxes When Transferring Ownership." The cost to attend is FREE for all current Chamber members and non-members will be $20. The cost covers both sessions and lunch will be included.

Regional Mentoring for Women

Thursday April 18th, 2019 4:30 pm- 7:00 pm

Regional Mentoring for Women; Hosted by the Eastern Affiliates: Grinnell Area Chamber of Commerce, Knoxville, IA Chamber of Commerce & Newton Chamber of Commerce is a program in collaboration with the Greater Des Moines Partnership to bring together women for a networking, coaching, and mentoring session from the region's most influential business leaders.

The event is designed for women to find inspiration and guidance for their careers. The evening will be structured with four panels consisting of professional women from Grinnell, Knoxville and Newton speaking on topics relevant to all women in the workforce. Panels will include: Female Leadership, Balancing Work & Life, Growing and/or Buying a Small Business, and Gaining Confidence & Overcoming Obstacles.

Interested attendees can register through their Chamber of Commerce. Cost is $15 for chamber members and $30 for non-chamber members. Registration includes food & drink.

Our schools provide great educational opportunities for our students ranging from high rigor academic courses to outstanding extracurricular activities. The Newton Schools boast a great mix of opportunities from fine arts to athletics. We encourage and support students who participate in multiple activities.  To quote the high school principal, "There's just no better place to raise your kid than Newton, Iowa." Come check us out.
