Lighted Holiday Parade and Courthouse Lighting

November 23rd, 2018 5-7pm

The Newton Chamber of Commerce is excited to continue this fun annual tradition. The theme for our 14th Annual Lighted Parade is, "The 12 Days of Christmas". Attendees can expect an evening full of fun activities to enjoy. Starting at 4:30pm, Horse and Carriage rides will be available for FREE thanks to our local Edward Jones offices; Mark Allen, Brendan Lamont, Travis Padget, Nate Milone, and John O'Bannon. At 5pm the Young Professionals of Jasper County will be holding their Chili Cook-Off inside the west entrance of the Jasper County Courthouse. The public is welcome to taste the chili and then vote for your favorite! The local 4-H will have their Festival of Trees on display inside the courthouse all evening as well. Starting right before 6pm, we will have a countdown to the Jasper County Courthouse lighting, and the parade will begin promptly following the lighting. Santa will ride into town in the parade and will be inside the courthouse following the parade for the kids to visit! After the parade, there will be "Cookies and Caroling" courtesy of Community Heights Alliance Church. Bring the family downtown for this great tradition!

We need your parade entries! To register for the parade click on this link: Parade Registration . There will be 1st and 2nd place prizes for the best lighted floats that follow our theme! The deadline to register will be Monday, November 19th. All entries must be lighted!
