Upcoming Event

Scoop the Loop with us! Wear your best Red Pride and help us celebrate the class of 2020! Decorate your cars in red and black, make signs with inspirational messages for our graduates, and send in your dedications for your graduate to KCOB on their Facebook page (deadline Thursday, May 21). They will play your request live on-air during the Scoop the Loop! 

Seniors will be parading down 1st Ave. from the Iowa Speedway starting at 6:15pm. Spectators are invited to park on the route in designated parking lots and parking spots, stay in your cars, but wave and congratulate our seniors as they drive by!

2020 Community Business Grant Application

Deadline May 26th, 2020

The City of Newton, Jasper County, Newton Development Corporation, Jasper Community Foundation, JEDCO, along with several local businesses and citizens have created a fund to help businesses located in Jasper County that did not receive financial assistance during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Small Businesses may apply under the following criteria:

*Applicant cannot have received another form of assistance for their business from the State of Iowa or Federal Sources

*Independent, locally owned businesses with under 25 employees

*For-Profit and Non-Profit organizations are eligible

*Priority given to businesses ordered "closed" by Governor Reynolds

*Your Jasper County Taxes must be current

Our schools provide great educational opportunities for our students ranging from high rigor academic courses to outstanding extracurricular activities. The Newton Schools boast a great mix of opportunities from fine arts to athletics. We encourage and support students who participate in multiple activities.  To quote the high school principal, "There's just no better place to raise your kid than Newton, Iowa." Come check us out.
