Ambassador
To provide leadership and personnel to inititate and support special projects as they may be designated by the Chamber Board, which is a benefit to the Chamber and support of its goals and objectives. The Ambassadors meet on the third Thursday of each month at noon. They are responsible for planning the Ribbon Cuttings, Business After Hours, July 4th float and children's parade judging, Chamber Ambassador Golf Fun Outing and Christmas Social.
Chamber Coffee Forum
A coffee forum will be held in the morning on the first Friday of every other month. A topic of discussion will be picked by the committee and advertised to the membership.
Chamber Seminars
Seminars of interest to the membership will be held on the months that don't have a Chamber Coffee. They will be held from 11:30am - 1:00pm.
Farmer's Market
Held the last of May through the middle of October, Newton's Downtown Farmer's Market draws people into the downtown area for fresh produce and crafts. The market is held on Tuesdays from 3:30pm - 6:30pm on the west side of the courthouse.
Fourth of July
Newton's largest community celebration and the Chamber's largest volunteer opportunity. Committee members are needed to stage the parade entries as well as assist with the downtown vendors, publicity and clean up in the afternoon.
Friday Fest
An evening that is FREE to the public, featuring area musicians and food. This committee will be responsible for securing the event sponsors, food vendors and publicity.
Farm and City Night
Community festival held in late August. Features large and small agricultural and lawn machinery, petting zoo, beef, pork, lamb and ostrich. Provides member businesses an opportunity to showcase their products.
Lighted Christmas Parade
The parade will be held on Friday after Thanksgiving. The event revolves around the annual Courthouse Lighting. The parade will be held prior to the lighting ceremony. The committee is responsible for recruiting entries, finding interested sponsors and staging the event.
